Diy Paint Bucket Wall Decor

This was actually my first DIY decor I made for my licensed in-home daycare! Immediately after I set it up, I got flooded with compliments from my daycare parents and any new parents I would give tours to! Whether you’re looking for inspo for your child’s room or your classroom, I’ll show you exactly how I made mine!

What You’ll Need…

  • Mini paint bucket cans (mine are from Amazon linked below)
  • Tulle fabric (mine is from hobby lobby linked below)
  • Drill, hammer, and nails (optional)
  • Hot glue or double sided tape

This is such a quick and easy DIY. The most time consuming part for me was getting all the measurements when hanging the paint buckets on the wall ( my undiagnosed OCD makes me think it’s the end of the world if everything is not even haha).

So, what I did first is get my tulle fabric and cut it to the length I wanted. (I chose to do a rainbow but obviously you can get whatever colors you prefer.)

This is the Tulle I used!

Once you have all your tulle trimmed to the length you want, now it’s time to attach it to the inside of the paint buckets. For this part, I used Gorilla double sided tape, but hot glue would also probably work better. I taped my tulle closer to the middle of the inside of the paint bucket, so you don’t see where it’s placed inside, since the paint buckets are going to be slanted down as if the paint is falling out.

These are the paint buckets I used!

That’s it! Now it’s time to attach your paint buckets to the wall! I used a drill to make a hole in the middle of the side of the paint bucket so I could nail it to the wall. Since this is in my in-home daycare, I wanted to make sure it was super secure so it didn’t accidentally fall off onto a child, so however you want to attach it to the wall is optional.

This is what mine looks like now! I later went and added the crayon posters above them with the name of the colors! I think it turned out great. The parents absolutely love it but most importantly, the children love it!

Thank you SO much for making it to the end of this post! If you liked it and found it helpful, please comment and share!
